1. What can JGLsongs provide for my company or organization? Any
reason your company or organization is in need of music - be it for
advertising purposes, promotional videos or commercials or even music
for live presentations, JGLsongs can create the perfect musical
environment to enhance and enrich your product.
2. Who owns the music or is JGLsongs 'for hire'? For
industrials, promotional background music and presentations, JGLsongs
will create "music for hire." For any other purposes (soundtracks or
background for broadcast media, film or commercials, the music is not
"for hire" and is protected by the copyright laws of the U.S.
government and registered with a performing rights organization (for
JGLsongs, it is ASCAP).
3. Is this in writing anywhere? JGLsongs can provide your organization with a Music License Agreement (here's a sample).
4. Do prices vary for different organizational services? Since
composing background music for hire used in a 20-minute corporate
presentation is a lot different than sound tracking a short film or
music used in a commercial, there are varied prices. Organizational
clients are different as well - some projects just need background
music for a corporate presentation; others involve original music for
film, TV, video, etc. Some organizations are seeking background music
for a commercial ad, and others need music to give a corporate
presentation that extra lift.
For
fees, as in the case of the projects themselves, the first step is a
consultation, which can be conducted in person, by telephone or through
e-mail.
5. Can JGLsongs edit films/videos and incorporate the music like a film production house? No.
JGLsongs is not equipped with the equipment needed to mix the music
directly onto the film or video. We can provide the finished mixed and
mastered music, however clients and companies will have to use a
film/video editing house to add the music tracks directly to the visual
project.
